FREE Family Day Event – Winterlude at Gamiing Nature Centre, North of Bethany

Looking for fun and free outdoor event to attend on Family Day?  Celebrate Winterlude at Gamiing Nature Centre located at 1884 Pigeon Lake, east of Lindsay.  As stated on their website, “Giving and Sharing within our communities is paramount to a healthy society.  GAMIING welcomes visitors all year round.

Join Gamiing Nature Centre for the following activities on Family Day:

Snowshoeing

Snow Maze

Sledding with kids sleds

Tobogganing

Making bird feeders

Making maple taffy

Gamiing Nature Centre is located on the west shores of Pigeon Lake in the territory of the Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg.  Gamiing has a pedagogical approach to program delivery that is based on emergent and inquiry learning. The defining feature of their programs is that people are provided with opportunities to build relationships with the land, water, community, and with themselves.

Gamiing Nature Centre has approximately 7km of recreational trails of various difficulties.  Their forest is very young. It was planted in 1987 and 1988 with mainly black spruce and white pine.  Their main purpose is to re-establish and protect the original bio-diversity.

Gamiing offers the community innovative ways to learn about environmental issues, the flora and fauna found in our backyards.  They offer a wide variety of programs and workshops or all ages.
