4th Line Theatre Unveils 2025 Summer Season!

Located in Millbrook, 4th Line Theatre is set to launch its 33rd summer season with two world-premiere productions that delve into pivotal moments in Canadian history. Both plays will be staged at the Winslow Farm located at 779 Zion Line, Millbrook, continuing the theatre's tradition of presenting regionally based and environmentally staged historical dramas.

The Housekeeper

  • Dates: July 1–19, 2025

  • Directed by: Robert Winslow
  • Synopsis: Set in 1955, this mystery romance follows Eleanor Gwyn, a woman seeking a fresh start in Millbrook by becoming a housekeeper for widower Walter White. The play explores the challenges of integrating into a small town with progressive views.

Wild Irish Geese

  • Dates: July 29–August 30, 2025

  • Synopsis: This historical drama tells the story of Irish settlers who arrived in the Peterborough region in the 1820s under an emigration plan led by Peter Robinson. The play commemorates the 200th anniversary of their arrival and explores themes of displacement and resilience.

Festival Fridays (Fridays before the show): Local farmers and culinary partners offer ready-to-eat food for purchase from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Additionally, artist talks and expert presentations enrich the theatre experience from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m.
