The 169th Lindsay Exhibition!

The Lindsay Agricultural Society (LAS) is hosting the 169th Lindsay Exhibition, taking place between September 16 and 24, 2023 located at 354 Angeline Street South in Lindsay.

Among other things, the LAS is excited to host its first-ever Family Weekend, on September 16 and 17 on opening weekend to offer family-focused entertainment along with mainstay agriculture and livestock events. Family Weekend will feature reduced admission fees and free family events and entertainment throughout the grounds. In the north field, visitors will find bouncy castles, a corn hole competition, and much-anticipated Family Game Zone, where kids and families can enjoy traditional family lawn games like the three-legged race, egg and spoon race, balloon toss, and more.

Families are encouraged to also stop by the Common Well Exhibition Building to find kids’ crafts, a learn-to-quilt activity, pedal tractor obstacle course, puppet show, and more.  Visitors can also head down to the barns to visit the petting zoo at the Ag Pavilion, or take in the livestock events happening at the surrounding barns. Fairgoers can grab something to eat from the fantastic line-up of food options and head to the grandstands to sit down and watch a variety of special events. These include the heavy horse show, the opening ceremonies – featuring the OMSSU Musical Ride – and an opportunity to meet the newly-crowned 2023 Lindsay Exhibition Ambassador of the Fair.

Starting on September 20th, the Common Well Exhibition Building will be open daily to view all the amazing work of local makers, crafters, quilters, bakers, artists, and vegetable growers on display sporting their hard-earned ribbons.  The Family Stage will feature both new and traditional acts including the Blackfly Band, Parliament of Owls, DooDoo the International Clown, the Rockabillyjoe Show, the Bex in Motion Fire Show, and much more. Meanwhile, the much-anticipated grandstand entertainment features the trusted LEX line-up of two demolition derbies, the truck pull, and the tractor pull, the Woof Jocks, and new this year catch the mini-chuckwagon races on September 23rd and 24th.

Visitors are also encouraged to check out the Agriculture Pavilion to meet the farm animals, watch a sheep shearing demonstration, a milking demonstration, listen to farmer talks, and check out the Porkmobile, courtesy of Ontario Pork.

The Lindsay Agricultural Society (LAS) was formed in 1854 for the purpose of encouraging an awareness of agriculture and promoting improvements in the quality of life of persons living in the local agricultural community and beyond.

Throughout the society’s 169 years, it has remained loyal to its mandate, consistently promoting the agricultural community and forging ties through the region with service clubs, youth groups, and other organizations.

The LAS annually hosts the Lindsay Exhibition, the fourth-largest agricultural fair in Ontario. The new LAS facilities have hosted numerous other shows and events including prestigious livestock shows, agricultural specialty shows, home and craft shows, trade shows and consumer shows; all of which add strength to the fabric of the community and agricultural life.
